Car keeps running w/out key TPI to CARB

Car keeps running w/out key TPI to CARB
I went from an 88' 5.0 TPI auto to a 383 carbed with a T56 and now
I cant find how to make my IGN hot unless I hook up the orange wire(on a plug with the thick yellow one) under the center console to my black reverse light wire (on the plug with neutral safty wires), but it just keeps running when I turn the key off. If I kill the master power via 150a breaker in +batt. circut, engine goes off. my alt wires are hooked up as follows: brown to harness on driver side fire wall (stock location.) tan/white unhooked ,thicker red to starter sol., Bottom thick red wire to batt. I have heard I need a 300ohm resistor on the brown wire will that fix this prob?

I also just read that a diode in the alt. exciter wire will fix this
any input would be great

I also dropped my steering collumn and none of my IGN switch wires have power
How do I get power to IGN switch?
Fuse block?
