Starter question
Ok so i go to start my car the other day so i can go to work and it won't crank over. Now i have no time to sit around and really troubleshoot anything so i grab my 1/2" drive ratchet to jump the connections on the starter to get it started and still nothing. I got some sparks when i tried to jump the starter and i also checked it for voltage and is is getting 12v so i was wondering if anyone knew if this meant that my starter is done for and needs to be replaced or could there be some other problem in the starting system?
Thanks

Re: Starter question
pull your starter out, hook leads of power to it. if nothing jump the power past the solenoid post so it goes without going through the solenoid and if the starter runs then u need a new solenoid.
