these interior components dont work: power locks, radio resets everytime i get in the car and so does the clock, the overhead lights dont work, and horn. i think its fuse acc 20a. where can i get the same fuse? how many amps is it 20 amps?

 

Yes, 20A accessory fuse.
If your fusebox is still readable, it should indicate the required fuse amperage for each circuit.

I may be wrong but I think the radio problem is separate. Is it an after market radio? The red wire(on most radios) should be connected to a fuse that only comes on when the ignition is turned on. The yellow wire which runs the clock should be connected to a battery fuse which has power going to it constantly. That will run the clock and the memory for your station presets. Hope that helps.

 

you need to tell us the year camaro you have. i have the wiring diagram for the 90.
decided just to give it to you instead of waiting - hope you are close to 90. you can click on pic to see it but a real good pic will be to download it and then look on a pdf reader where you can really expand it.

 

its an 89 camaro iroc 305 tpi. just put another fuse from my fuse box it said 20 on it into acc fuse 20a and it created a spark??????

 

something is shorting out. I would check your cigarette lighter which is usually the main culprit, then the overhead console/light...good luck!

 

just put a new fuse in it and it blew the new fuse immediately. what would cause that

 

You have a short. If one of the wires become frayed and makes contact with the metal frame or sheet metal, the circuit will surpass its current flow capacity (amps) and will blow the fuse. The question is what caused the short and how to find it? You'll have to find out what components work off that fuse. Unplug each component and replace the fuse. If it blows you have a bare wire touching metal somewhere. If it doesn't, plug in one component at a time until the fuse blows. Then you can isolate where the short is.

 

A neat trick to avoid blowing dozens of fuses (they can get expensive) is to use a regular 99c test light instead of the fuse. If all devices with a draw are disconnected (dome light bulbs removed), the light should be turned off.
As long as the light is lit brightly, there's a big draw in the circuit (likely the short). Just trace all wires and devices on that circuit, wiggle wires, pull connectors, until the light turns off.
