Fuel Pump Priming Issue
Having an issue with my fuel pump not kicking on.
I checked the relay and I have power to all the right connectors except for the grey wire, which I believe works with the ECM and triggers the pump to turn on when I turn the ignition over (correct?). When I complete the circuit, the pump turns on just fine, so I know it isn't the pump. And I am getting power to the relay box and to the pump (obviously). It is just that grey wire that runs from the ECM that tells the pump to turn on when I turn the key to the on position is what the problem is. To help troubleshoot it, I am trying to see where it has power and where it doesn't. It doesn't near the pump.
Anyways, I want to test it at the ECM, but there is a number of grey wires coming from it. Is there a diagram out there that can help (online)?
I found this link
http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=35
But it doesn't have a diagram of what the fuel pump priming wire (grey wire) is at on the ECM.
Or if you know of a better way of tracking it down in the engine bay area, that would be great.
Many thanks.

Re: Fuel Pump Priming Issue
So, is the pump not priming, or is it priming but not running? I'm confused on what the problem is.

Re: Fuel Pump Priming Issue
You found the right link.
When you open it, click on the words that say "WIRING DIAGRAM". That's your wiring diagram.
The wire which the ECM uses to control the fuel pump relay is dark green/white in color.
The grey wire is what powers the fuel pump when the ECM actuates the relay, you should see power on it when there is power on the green/white wire which actuates the relay.
Hope this helps.

Re: Fuel Pump Priming Issue
my guess would be the relay switch has gone bad... because it should send power to the grey wire once the key is in the on position... the grey wire has nothing to do with the ecm... it goes from the relay to the pump.
So i would suggest replacing the relay.
