Tachometer way off afer rebuild

Car: 95 SHO. 87 IROC red 69 Vette blue
Engine: 3.0 Yamahammer.5.7 TPI L98, 350
Transmission: mtx4 ,700r4, 4speed,
Axle/Gears: 3.27, 3.73
Tachometer way off afer rebuild
So i got my car back toghether and my tach is reading almost 7k at idle and when i turn the car off it rests back to about 65k, Please help me, Has anyone esle had this problem, O yea its an 87 l98 iroc

it fixed itself, once i set the timing it fixed itself
