"Security Switch" - Coil wire ok?
"Security Switch" - Coil wire ok?
Will this have a negative effect on engine performance?
To install a "security switch":
1 -Cut one of the wires from coil to distributor.
2 -Splice in wiring to switch under dash.
Just wondering if extra run of wiring will somehow bother
the ignition.
Also, someone said to use "shielded wire" and ground the
"shielding". What gage wire would you suggest?
Thanks!

Don’t do that.
It’s high voltage therefore the machinations you would have to go thru would be elaborate.
You can accomplish the same thing by cutting the 12 volt feed going to the module in the distributor.
Use a size larger than you see to avoid voltage drop.

Got your e-mail Chuck.
I don’t know the color however you can cut one of the wires coming from the 2 pin portion of the module connector.
They go to primary of the coil.
No need to open the distributor.
Do it at the coil.
