What size?
I just replaced my alternator because of a bad bearing. The "new" alternator came off a friends wrecked car that has been sitting for a while but he said he replaced it a few weeks before it was wrecked. I think its 105amps but im not positive but like the old one it doesnt seem to want to support all my electronics while idling at night. I've got dual fans from a ford contour that and the head lights seem to pull alot of power when on together and my head lights go off randomly sometimes if i've been driving for a while but it never seems related to the voltage its just random. So i guess my two questions are what size alternator do i need for my dual fans, head lights, subs, windshield wipers and all that good stuff. And any idea whats up with my headlights? They sometimes go off randomly if i've been driving for a while at night and when they do it once they usually do it again a minute or so later. thanks for any help

Re: What size?
I know the earlier 3rd gens had some lower amperage alternators, but the 105s found on the later models are more than sufficient for most people. Upgrading the "big 3" (positive battery to alternator, negative battery to body ground, and body ground to engine block) wiring to bigger guage will help getting the juice to where it needs to in the vehicle with less chance of voltage drop over long distances.
