oil temp guage not working

Car: 1988 firebird trans am

Engine: 305 fuel inject. tbi

Transmission: 700r4

oil temp guage not working

Guage does not work. When i punch on the gas, it will work and go to 40 or whatever its at. any ideas will help. thanks

Sounds like a loose connection; check wiring to sensor
