Hey guys i was wondering if you could help me with this i have a 1986 trans am that has a built 350 in it now but it was originally a 305 4 bl 'h' code car. this car has a MAP sensor and i wondering y in the hell that it has one? i thought that since it was a carbureted car that it shouldnt have or need a MAP sensor?

 

On older cars it was called the baro sensor and detected the atmospheric pressure. One of the many sensors the CCC used to monitor functions

 

Thanx man cuz it confused the crap out of me when i saw it. lol so is it still a map sensor? can i test it the same way?
