Changed starter motor. Now no power

I bought a starter motor from Advanced Auto and decided to take it upon myself to install. I disconnected the battery, made a diagram of the cables, and swapped the motors. Now I have no power at all. I tested the battery and it has more than enough juice, but I still don't have any operating potential. I'm wondering what could be the problem.

Re: Changed starter motor. Now no power

do you have power to the rst of the car? did you hook up the exciter wire to the starter on one of the solenoid poles? what was the problem before you changed the starter?

Re: Changed starter motor. Now no power

I disconnected the wires attached to the old starter and put them on in the same fashion on the new one. My car would start most days, but on others I would turn the key and get no crank what so ever. The ignition key was already replaced. So, I figured that I might as well replace the starter.

I don't understand why nothing is working after I disconnected the battery, and put everything back the way it was. I should at least have power.

I'd get back under there and make sure you connected the positive cable from the battery back to the solenoid.

Re: Changed starter motor. Now no power

I pulled some strings and found a professional to take a peak at my car.
He concluded that one of my wires going to the fuse was bad.
So, I'm having the car towed to my house tomorrow morning.
It'll sit there until I have the money to pay someone else to fix it.
Thanks for the help.
