Best way to start my car.

The factory wiring sysytem in my 92 Z28 has been gutted and now I can't find that part of the wiring harness. Would a painless universal kit work? I basicly need starter with a key at the colum, headlights, turnsignals, brakelights, interior lights and windows. No A/C, No Heater, could live without a radio if I had to, no wipers etc..

Re: Best way to start my car.

Get a new dash harness from a 90-92 V6 or TPI camaro. TBI cars will work if you bypass the buffer box

Firebirds are not compatible

Universal streetrod harnesses are not a simple solution by any means

Where would be the best place to find such a thing? Does any aftermarket company make one? I was thinking the painless route cause I won't use all the factory functions but then agains there is always the VATS problem.

Solder the resistor in or or disable it in the tune

JY will be the best source of a cheap harness. Maybe a partout thread in the classifieds

I have completly abandond the OEM ECM and gone with a Holley Commander 950, I guess the resistor would be the best way then? What ohm resistor is required?

JY is junkyard

Without the OEM ECM, VATS is reduced to controlling the starter relay alone. Find it behind the drivers kick panel and ground the BLK/YEL wire or connect the two big wires

VATS only controlled 3 aspects of the engine, fuel pump enable, fuel injectors and starter solenoid. The old ECM controlled two of those and the last is bypassed as any common relay is
