So, My camaro has been sitting for a few years. I got it from a buddy of mine who was looking for a truck after the frame broke in half on his. He knew I wanted his Camaro (that I have now). I asked him jokingly if he wanted to trade my truck for his camaro. He said yes. Se we signed the titles over and went from there. Transmission was shot, so I replaced it. and have been driving it since. The issue I have come across is that I'm tired of buying air fresheners for it. And it doesn't smell the greatest right now. Like you can tell its been sitting for a bit. So, today I decided to go to my Fiancees work and pick her up on her lunch break. She was looking around and something caught the corner of her eye and she started screaming " THERES A DAMN MOUSE IN YOUR BACK SEAT!" I decided to go buy a trap and catch him. so far, nothing. maybe it ran out. Who knows. But is there any way I can get the smell out from my car without masking it with air fresheners or fabrees. I was thinking about bringing it to a local detailing place and having them clean the car. What do you guys recommend?

you can check for and remove the mouse fecal matter/urine, wash the carpet with
a power washer and simple green. there's also these little bags with lava rock that are supposed to absorb odors.

I was gonna use some oxyclean and a wet/dry vac and let it all air dry out. I vacuumed it the other day and got everything out. Just need to do a deep clean and get everything out of the carpet. I'm going to eventually replace the carpeting in there.

Oh I know, hahaha. Dirty rotten rodents! Might put moth ***** in my car when I store it for the winter. Not sure what other people do, but any info will be appreciated!

Mice.
The absolute worst thing that can happen to your interior. They **** on EVERYTHING. The smell is terrible and there is almost no way you can get rid of the smell without tearing apart the interior and washing everything.
My dad has a couple of cars out back(lives in central MN) and once decided to sell a car; car had been sitting for 6 years the smell of mouse **** was unbearable, no air freshener or febreeze can cover it. Had to completely gut the interior, pressure wash the carpet, soak the plastics for days. Mice made their 'nests' in the cavities within the body metal. After all the washing, even with perfume shampoo stuff there is still a lingering stench. Though it's not nearly as bad but it's still there.
The best thing you can do if you respect you car is to gut it. Clean EVERYTHING especially the plastics, air ducts, vents, heater, and wash with a nice smelling shampoo. Spray long lasting car scents on the fabrics. Wouldn't be a bad idea to wash the interior metal as well. Anything that smells bad and you can't just plain wash it, replace it otherwise you're still gonna smell that.
Most of this is from personal experience. Mice are terrible.

Fully gut the interior. Bucket of soap and water and wash down everything. Vacuum down in EVERY little body crevice. Pressure wash the carpet at the DIY car wash place. Spray enzyme stuff in every crevice. Then pray on the first hot day it worked...

can't go through weatherstripping ...holes to small ,firewall is metal and only 1 big hole but that's filled with the AC pipes
