Distributor and Electrical problems

Ok so i replaced the plug wires on my 86 Trans Am with a 305 TPI engine... Here is whats going on... I tried to start it the other day and it started and when i put it into drive it died on me. I am also having voltage problems when I put a load on my car. The battery is fine and so is the alternator both are basically brand new. I have had both tested and they passed with flying colors. I am kinda wondering if maybe my problem would be in my distributor or maybe i put the plugs on wrong... Does anybody know where i could find some information about the firing order and which plug wire goes where on the distributor? Thanks for the help.

Re: Distributor and Electrical problems

Hmmm another thing that i have found... The tips where the plug wire connect to the distributor cap... Some of them are loose and the tabs inside of the cap where the rotor hits are also worn. Would the points being loose and the tabs being worn be enough to cause the car to die and not idle at low rpms? Because theoreticly it would make the car miss or run poorly. Any thoughts on that?
