Engine: Carb 350, Carb 327, 6.2 Diesel
Transmission: Borg-Warner T10, TH-350, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23, stock 10 bolt, 3.73
Gas Gauge Help
hi every 1 i need some help. i ran out of gas the other day when my gauge said i had 1/4 tank left. and when i fill it up all the way the gauge reads a 1/2 past full. ne ideas on whats wrong? im not too good with wiring so you might need to explain things too me.

Lets Be Fuelish
Heres how to test the fuel gage.
Remove the sender wire going to the gage.
Wrap the bare end of the wire so it cant touch anything.
Obtain a potentiometer with a value of 90Ω or the closest you can find.
Connect one end the potentiometer to the gage from the location you removed the sender.
Connect the wiper of the potentiometer to ground.
Turn the key to RUN.
Slowly adjust the potentiometer from 0Ω to 90Ω.
0Ω = Empty, 90Ω = Full
If the gage is good it will display a smooth transition from end of its range to the other.
Therefore the problem would be with the sender or wiring going to it.

well i actually just marked were it actually runs out and fill it up before then. its a temp fix itll i get time.
