Forth gen dash swap!!! Help!!!

Hey guys,
I have come to respect you guys alot because I to am in the in the process of Puting a fourth gen dash in a third gen.( a 1996 camaro dash an door panels in my buddy's 87 bird) I am having trouble with 2 things.

1 does any body know if I can use the camaro headlight switch for the popups? Or just simply the best way to acomplish this.

2 how to give the harness for the 4th gen camaro door panels (ie windows, and locks haress) power? Like basically which wires on the harness and their aproximate position.

A little bonus question

Does anybody have a template for the dashpad or is it cut and trim to fit?

You can post me any info or resources here or email me to riceaintgravy@hotmail.com

1.) I would need to check and see if there are any differences in the switch but I don't think there is. Trans Am headlights go through a resistor for the headlight doors. Search the site since many people have done this before.

2.) if you are going to do this, you should really think about getting as much wiring off of the donor car as possible. This will make it much easier to splice and connect. Also, a wiring diagram will be extremely valuable for this project. You could tap into the junction block but you need to make sure you are using the correct circuit so you don't have a meltdown.

3.) the dashpad is a cut and trim project. You should get some thin cardboard and use that as your template so you can trim it until it is perfect. Then you lay it on the dash panel and start trimming.

Re: Forth gen dash swap!!! Help!!!

Yeah that's what I thought with the lights. I guess he just won't have the option to turn his lights off with the doors up. But if that works cool. My question is which wires are the ones to use on the 3rd gen firbird light switch or simply what are each of their.

To answer you back I have the entire door harness un cut. I just want to know what needs power on it? I already changed the connector for the lock and it's in but where do I plug in the juice? I see three wires in the middle of the harness and a plug around the steering wheel with like 15 wires?
