headlamp motors

i have an 84 trans am and having problems with the headlight motors going up and down. at first the driver side wouldn't go up or down andthe passenger side would just go up. after a couple hrs of trouble shooting i found the contacts for the driver side motor was melted. lucly i had an extra. the passenger side motor blue wire is not getting power at all and the driver side as constant power. now to get the head lights to go up i have to wiggle the switch..

i was thinking thats what melted the contact in the driver side motor was the blue wire being constant hot not sure if they are supposed to be.

do you guys think all my problems is in the head light switch.

Re: headlamp motors

Could be, not the most common, but not unheard of either

Re: headlamp motors

HELP !

I got the new headlight switch and still the same problem. I double checked all the grounds and nothing. Are the headlight relays and isolation relay the same. If so I already order three and will pick them up tomarrow.

Please help.

Re: headlamp motors

more than likely these are the culprits that sit beind the 3 screwed door on the headlight motor clean up circled contacts, and if the contacts dont spring off when the rod hits the top of the torque arm the contacts need replacing, and that my friend is something im looking for myself!
