can i use a two wire alt on a three wire car how?
I bought the car battery will not charge. It has a two wire alternator on it spliced into the stock three wire clip. The big red wire on the two wire clip is spliced into the big red wire on the stock three wire clip the second wire on the two wire clip is bolted to the back of the alternator(not to the big wire running to the battery, somewhere else on the back). The gauge was working when I drove it home and I watched it slowly drain till it shut off. Can I use this alternator with a little bit of rewiring or should I get a stock one. Thanks any info appreciated? Josh
