Electrical drainnnnn

Ok, as the title states I have an electrical drain. After going up to advance and having a buddy hook up a drain tester and pulling every single fuse we determined the drain is not reaching the electrical box. it's a 12.4 to 12.6 constant drain. The car is an 84 z28 camaro.

It might be back-charging thru a defective alternator.

Disconnect it to find out.

Re: Electrical drainnnnn

Na, I know it's not that. i've been through three alternators in the last three years and starters and batteries for that matter. So rules those out. they kept giving me the wrong alternator and I didn't catch it till 3 days ago when I went to warrenty it out. Turns out they were giving me the non ac car one and it was having to work to ahrd to supply my car with power thus burning out every 6 months. I've been through 3 batteries because of my drain, it just kills batteries after they have been drained completely about 20 times lol. And the starters were killed by lontube heat now fixed with a heat shield. Sooooo I still have the drain after all that.

Re: Electrical drainnnnn

Did you remember to pull the fuse by the battery also? Someone said that powers the ECM and fuel pump. Could have a problem there.
How long does it take to drain a battery? I'm just wondering if you'll be able to see it with an ammeter. Is the 12.4 to 12.6 in amps?

Knock on wood, I havn't had to dig into my wiring yet, but I do have a rat's nest under the dash that needs attention some day.
