fusible link maybe?
i have an 87 firebird base coup with the 2.8 v6 and the idiot light dash.
the wiring on this car is a nightmare iv been slowly unwrapping miles of electrical tape. and finding numerous electrical splices where a PO had cut and stripped the wires then twisted them together with a shitload of electrical tape. i have fixed most of them with butt connectors and a moderate amount of tape.i didn't know if that was why my gauge lights and shifter light don't work. i have checked the fuses and there all good. so i was wondering if it could be caused by a fusible link and if so where would it be located and how do i check it.
edit: the idiot lights are still working are they on a different circuit

Re: fusible link maybe?
The idiot lights are on the GAUGES fuse, the others on the TAILS fuse. There is a secondary dimmer regulator bolted to the dash frame above the part holding the ALDL and the horn/flasher relays and the buzzer. This can and does go bad. However, if the radio light works, you need to find the problems elsewhere. Also check the dimmer above the light switch to see if it's still working.
