no speedo after carb swap
I took the ecm completly out (was a 305 tpi) and I can't get my speedo to work, I read something about a buffer box on here, what exactly is that?
I have a TCC switch that uses the VSS, so I assume it will run the speedo if I connect it to the original wires so I need to know what color the original wires running to the speedo in the dash are (my haynes manual says brown and black/white but none of those seemed to work)
thanks, Tim

Buff It Out
The buffer looks like this.

It should be located near the ECM.
On some thirdgens it’s behind the dash.
Different years/models used different wire colors.
You can probe the buffer with an audio amplifier.
The line with the higher pitch goes to the speedo.
