MAF wiring - Someone really botched this IROC.
Alright, my buddy at work bought an 86 IROC-Z recently. The thing only has about 48k on it, and he was told it was a numbers matching 305 TPI/700R4 when he bought it. Turns out someone swapped a 350 TPI into it at some point and did an AWFUL job with most of the wiring. Under his hood he has like 6 different boxes with fuses in them all over, his radiator fan was wired separately, etc. It's a realllll rat's nest of electrical wiring, hell, whoever did it didn't even PLUG IN THE HIGH BEAMS..
So anyways, his check engine light is on and comes up with code 34, Mass Air Flow sensor. I knew that was the problem before I even pulled the code though, seeing as the MAF sensor ISN'T EVEN PLUGGED IN. O_o
I looked over most of the engine bay and for the life of me I just couldn't find the wires and connector that plug into his MAF up on the air box assembly. Obviously this is a kind of big issue and he needs help fixing it..
His car seems to be having a hard time starting and has been getting poor gas mileage, both of which I have a feeling are related to his missing MAF wiring.

Lol dude, I know.. personally he's a little dim to the 3rd Gen world, so I've had to take him under my wing so to speak. If I had been the one buying it (I almost WAS, I had seen it for sale and it was in half decent shape) I would've known as soon as I opened that hood it was gonna be a headache.
Both of the front fenders were replaced, and it looks like it had been in some sort of front end collision at one time due to the fact the headlight bar looks all sorts of messed up... it's definitely no where near as nice as they made it out, but it isn't a lost cause. It's a real nice car for what it is. It's a fully loaded car in terms of options.
