Do electrical components corrode

In a car that's been sitting not driven just started every 2-3 months do sensors and such go bad? I'm going to be making constant 6 hour trips in my car and have the engine running smooth with the exception of it needing new injectors and an egr solenoid I just don't want to have to worry about things like the ignition control module going bad while I'm out on the highway. I've already replaced the the mass air flow sensor and the IAC motor and it would suck if all the electrical components decided to go bad while on the road.

Re: Do electrical components corrode

if moisture gets into electrical components, they do corrode. Doubt everything will crap out all at once, but if the car has sat for years and never moved, things will start to deteriorate, faster/slower depending one where it is, indoor/outdoor ect.

If you HAVE to make sure your car won't break down, then replace everything with new, or buy a new car.

Any car as old as ours that haven't been fully restored are going to have problems here and there. If you're not prepared to deal with breakdowns out on the road, leave it home. Buy a Camry.
