Hot wires
Ok, so i was wondering if this was wrong, because to me it doesnt make sense.
To the right of my battery, on a 91 rs.
There is this rubberish housing with a screw coming out of it.
And this screw had around 3 hot wires with connectors attacted to it.
And this rubber housing mounted to my frame...
Now.. wouldnt that cause the hot wire to ground out?
Just wondering because imo that what would happen.
I could be wrong, Lemme know what you think.

Re: Hot wires
Sounds like the power distribution block - between the battery and the radiator, round with slots in the sides - the wires going to it are red or orange with fusible links in them? The block is made of a hardened plastic - the bolt doesn't go through into the frame, so there is no ground.

Because i had a friend who said it was causing a ground loop, so he connected all the wires to one.... now i gotta re-do it.

Re: Hot wires
If you had that much grounding going on directly from battery power wires like those i the power distribution box, the wires would have caught fire, or the battery blown up.
Are you having some sort of electrical issue and that's why you were concerned?

Re: Hot wires
yea, but i think i got it figured out.
The whole issue was that my car battery would drain out when i was driving. And my car would kick out to where i couldn't accelerate and my rpm meter would just sputter down.
Tried all possible things to fix it and narrowed it down to my ECM.
i'm not 100% sure but its a old car and i figure its going to have to be swapped out soon anyway so why not now. and kinda hope it will fix it.
