Help opening hatch.
Car is '91Z. Ok. Car has no engine wiring harness to hook battery up to and the lock cyl. has been removed from the hatch. The old trick used to be to stick a flat screwdriver in the hole and turn it to unlock it. Doesn't seem like this will work with the elect. hatch pull down. So, how do I open the hatch?
I'm in the process of gutting the interior and can't get the hatch open to do the rear. HELP??

Re: Help opening hatch.
If your interior back plastic piece is off, there's a slot on the inside that a regular screwdriver will open. If the back piece is still on, some people have said you can get to the same spot by pulling out the hatch light on that rear panel. Or possibly grab the cable that goes to the unlock mechanism and pull that. That's all the ideas I've heard...

The rear plastics are still on. Thanks for the tip. I suppose I'll try and crawl my 6'4, 235lb. butt back there and pull the light out and try that. Thanks! Will let you know if it works.

I was able to unlock it from the inside through the hole where the light is. Thanks for the tip.

Cool, my light isn't in the right spot, but I've read on here that some are, and apparently yours is!
