i have a few wires that don't have a home and have rattled my brain.So the first one is under the dash on the driverside and it is gray and white.. then i have a Brown on hanging as well in the same area for some reason after i dropped the steering wheel to replace the ignition switch on the colum i no longer have power to my dash but i did as everyone said on the vats resistor and the security light is now off so tryin to figure why no dash functions and was wondering if it had to do with one of the 2 wires i mentioned Thanx all who reply to my situation btw it's a 1989 formula 305 tpi

well thanks i have a chiltons but it's kinda greek to me i mean i'm getting a better understanding it's just a lil new to all the different diagrams but thanks for trying anyother idea's guy's?

Well, I looked at the diags FOR YOU - there doesn't appear to be any grey/white wires in the wiring diags for your year - so you're going to have to relook at that wire and verify color - look farther up/down the wire - there's alot of colors with white, but grey isn't one of them (unless my tired eyes are missing it. Also, it's not my car, so I may not be real motivated to look that closely after a long day. That's why I gave YOU the link.

There are also a ton of brown wires under the dash. The diags I linked to show all the colors for all the wires - it isn't rocket science. But YOU are going to have to look at the wiring diags YOURSELF and determine which of the many items that have a brown wire is missing one.

Providing the diagrams is about all any of us can do - besides guess and rattle off any number of 15 different things that could be missing a brown wire. The rest is up to YOU. i got ya and yea i did notice that there wasn't any grey with white but i will look and see if maybe someone extended that wire or something i do appriciate the help i didn't mean to sound rude or nothin and don't blame ya on the not wanting to go looking for a wire you get back problems that way... haha but i will look tomorrow in a more thurough way and see what i can find but thanks i did save the diagrams on my comp and have been looking at them and tryin to figure what is what it's just process of elimination at this point
