Turn Signal Cross Short?
Turn Signal Cross Short?
So....when I go to use either turn signal nothing blinks. I am pretty sure it is a cross short and wondering if it is a common problem before I go tracing wires.
I turn on the right signal.
- Right arrow stays solid on dash.
- Passenger front stays solid outside.
- Passenger rear stays solid outside.
I turn on the left signal.
- Left arrow stays solid on dash.
- Passenger front stays solid outside.
- Driver rear stays solid outside.
I laughed when I seen this...
Haven't looked at anything yet, but my first guess is perhaps a wrong bulb in one of the turning lights. Second guess is a grazed/+ shorted wire. Third would have to be the selector switch.
Let me know if anyone has encountered this before, but either way, I will provide a solution for those in the future in case they have a similar problem.
Thanks!

Re: Turn Signal Cross Short?
its liek a silver thing its the shape of a cylinder and its silver youll see it, its under the steering colum. there are 2. one it clipped next to the fuse box and one is bushed up kinda by the seering wheel right next to two 15a fuses
Re: Turn Signal Cross Short?
I changed both of the flashers today, while under the dash there was one to the right in a fuse like box, and another by the steering column.
I'm not sure what the one in the fuse box does, and although it was a different number flasher, I bought two new flashers that were the same number as the closer to the steering column that used a connector.
I still have the same problem though. Seems like the two fronts are crossshorted as the right front always stays illuminated while the lights are on for the car. The rear turning lights do work though. Weird
