A quick introduction and basics. I'm completely rebuilding an 82 Z28 replacing the 4bbl 305 with a 350. Doing a sort of frame up restoration and to date the engine bay has been completely stripped and repainted along with all the front suspension components and firewall components. New Eibach pro sport springs and kyb struts are in and the cars back on the ground. The passenger compartment has been completely stripped from the back seats all the way to the firewall and stripped and resealed and sound deadened. The dash and duct work are back in place.

I'm now moving on to reinstalling the wiring. The harness for the blower motor and a/c is back in and so is the main fuse panel and accessory harness. I've been reading most of the morning on deleting the ECM and harness and have a question or possibly two. The new motor will be completely carburated set up. Will I be able to keep the A/C and cruise control while deleting the ECM? Is there anything else in the passenger side harness I should be aware of, or actually can I ask what are the functions I will be deleting when loosing this harness and ECM module?

I do have the factory shop manual and glanced at the wiring diagrams and saw something for the cruise and also the a/c going to the ECM so thought I would ask.

A/c is seperate but has link to ECM so it runs the fan(s) when A/c turned on .On later cars A/c control is through the ECM.
Depending on how your car is setup you could use the OE pressure switch that sent the signal to the ECM to trigger the fan relay directly

 

Thank you for the answer, that is good news! I haven't got back into the wiring yet and just trying to plan ahead with as little surprises as possible. Anybody know about the cruise control also?
