dead short

Need help finding my short.I have done a complete 94 z28 wiring from the front to the back, lights, engine everything. no problem until this year.
I unhooked the ground wire put the volt meter between the bat and ground wire and it's pulling 12 volt with nothing turned on. I have spent the last 4 hours pulling every fuse and relay and still pulling power. I unhooked the starter and altenator and still pulling power. I unhooked the computer and split the car in half at the firewall and still have a short. Any idea what to look for next, I can't think of what to unhook next.

Short End Of The Short

A voltmeter in series with the battery is not a reliable way to find a short, especially if it’s a high Ω/V meter.

It can show 12 volts even if it’s going thru a properly loaded circuit.

Throw a small bulb such as a side-marker bulb in series instead.

Now you’re ready to hunt for shorts.
