Duplicate Part? Huh?
I'm hoping this is the dumbest question I will ask on these boards … but I know it won't be.
I have this double part which does have a vacuum hose attached to it and still trying to track down as to why the engine idling high, I came across what looks to be a duplicate part it says GM 466. So can I remove the duplicate and mount the other one? What's up with this?

Loos like somebody was either in a big hurry or had no tools with them and just replaced your MAP sensor by plugging it in and hooking up the vacuum hose without removing the old one. Those two little bolts in the front do the whole job. Just put the one that's hooked up where the other one is. If you have a 5.0 TBI, there's an article in the technical section on IAC and TPS adjustment. It then tells you how to set your base idle speed. Might help? Have fun!

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you to make sure the vacuum line is securely connected to the back of the TBI unit. Sine the previous owner was a little sloppy, you might want to check out all the vacuum lines for good connections and no breaks or leaks

Re: Duplicate Part? Huh?
Thanks for the info. I will check out that post.
Just out of curiosity which one would you go with, I tried them both and there was little difference, the one mounted, sounded a bit better. so should I replace this part?
I replaced the intake manifold so I checked all the hoses. will keep working on it.

Re: Duplicate Part? Huh?
There's no way of knowing why the person did that. May have been just blindly throwing parts at a problem? Try hooking up the one already mounted but hang on to the other and see if it creates any problem. Try setting your idle first and then go from there. Happy learning
