92 put eddlebrock intake on and distributor will not fit

92 put eddlebrock intake on and distributor will not fit

i bought a new eddlebrock intake and when i try to put the distr in it will not go all th e way in it sits like 1/8 inch to high it will not seat in. i put the distr in thru the old intake and it fits flush i have no clue what to do please help

have u tried popping off the cap and twisting the rotor see if it falls in?

Theres a shaft in the distributor that has to line up with the oil pump thats inside the motor block. Look at the very bottom of your distributor and you'll see it. You have to move the oil pump shaft in the block to line up with the shaft in the distributor or it wont sit all the way down. You can use a really long flat head screwdriver.

it seems like its all lined up but the way the neck on the dist is like two tiered the smaller (bevelled) part seems to not fit thru the distr hole in the new intake it seems like it gets stuck and doesnt even have a chance to sit on the gasket

so its not sitting? or its not going thru the hole in the intake? what intake did i get part number?>

It's an edelbrock performer tbi manifold model # 3704..it goes thru the hole in the intake 99% but there's about a nickels width of space between the distributor and the intake that wont let it go flush

im more than positive its the bottom shaft of the distributor not lining up with the pump...thats the problem i was having when putting my distributor in it looks a little off...pop off the cap and move the rotor it will fall right in when its lined up perfect.
