I just recently got my car running it has sat for around 7 maybe 8 yrs and when I went to start the car while turning over the gauges pegged out all the way right, it was the fuel, tach, oil from what I remember. I was wondering if anybody might know what could be going on??

 

Did you get the car started? If you did they should come back down. They do sometimes when you try and start the car with a low battery.

 

yeah I got it started let it run for about 5 or so mins and the battery is brand new.

 

Well you can always take the gauges out real quick and remove the plastic cover and move them back down with your finger lol

 

when you turn the key on they go down to normal position and when you go to crank the car they climb up and peg out.

 

My water temp gauge does it occasionally. I just tap on the gauge with my finger and voila!

 

ive had the same issue before, my tach got stuck though, i jsut revved it and it popped right back down, with the oil pressure and fuel pegged out...id check the connection on the cluster, just pop it out and then look for any jacked up wiring, and replace it, it normally works for me
