My starter is sparking?

Have everything hooked up right, have electricity to the rest of the car, one of the wires with a fusible link was broken or cut, I spliced it, and put it on the terminal, then + batt wire, it cranked fine on first test, then tried twice more and it just sparked and made a click sound, also the wire going from starter to solenoid is exposed a bit, seems like the spark is coming from that or in between that and the switch terminal....Can't figure out wth is wrong here...

Sounds like a bad connection or the exposed area may be making contact with something. Cover any exposed wire with electrical tape for now. I would shrink wrap it once you solve your issue. The starter draws alot of current. If you have a weak connection the starter will find it. Make sure all your cables and wires are tight and clean.

Jump that connection to see if the spark goes away.

(When you spliced the wire with the link, hopefully you didn’t bypass it.)

Happy Racing!
