Wiring Harness Disaster
I got caught in the middle of a TPI swap because my wiring harness is missing a couple wires that have been clipped. but when i was taking my TBI wiring harness off i noticed that some wires went back to control the gauges and such. there were no such wires on my TPI wiring harness. do i need a seperate wiring harness for my gauges, or did someone clip those off, too?

Re: Wiring Harness Disaster
There should no be any wires from the pass side harness to the guages etc on a TBI car.
But - in the same location as the ECM, there is an electronic box that controls cruise control, and it will have wires running to the steering column.
There's also wires for the speedo from the VSS, but I have no idea where exactly this is located - when I swapped from TBI to carb I just left my wiring in tact and removed my ECM box.
Not sure if that helps.

there are too many wires for just cruise, i think...but that DOES give me an idea. thanks, man
Re: Wiring Harness Disaster
Umm, not to be different, but TBI to TPI in a 90-92 car is plug and play. You need to bypass the buffer box and move the ECM speedo pin from pin D to pin K in the C207 engine side (clear)
