Starting Issues
I am having trouble starter my 1982 Z28. It has a 350 in it from a 77 El Camino. I have pulled the starter and battery out and taken them in and had them tested and they are both fine. Where should I look next for issues with starting this car?

No Battery, No Starter, Why Doesn’t Car Start ?
OK now that you have the battery and starter reinstalled, use a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to find out if you have power on both sides of the Clutch Switch when the clutch is depressed, and you try to crank.
If you DO, you have a broken connection between the Clutch Switch and the Starter Solenoid.
If you have power on ONE side of the Clutch Switch, when trying to crank, the Clutch Switch needs adjusting or replacement.
If you have NO power at either side of the Clutch Switch when trying to crank, probe the yellow wire coming out of the steering column to see if there is power there when trying to crank.

Re: Starting Issues
The car was orginally an automatic and when they put the clutch in they did not put in a safety switch. I am thinking i am going to rewire the ignition switch and make a push button start panel but i dont know the wiring diagram for the ignition switch so if anyone can tell me what color wire go to what that would be great.
