need some help guys my son and i are redoing a 82. Wanting to know what to do with the ecu in the pass fender. We have swapped a 305 from a 83 truck motor plain old q-jet and older non computer hei. It starts and runs fine, but wanna clean up the engine compartment up by removing the ecu and its wiring if possible. And one other thing my son wants to install the instrument panel from our 87 iroc parts car. Is that possible? Any info greatly appreciated. thanks don

 

If you are not running the original motor with the computer controlled carb and distributor, then just remove it. Nothing else was run through the computer that I am aware of other than engine controls. We did the same thing to my son's 82 z28 except we just left wires installed. We removed the ecm and put it in storage.
