auxillary wiring?

couple things. i do have some knowledge of electricity. but my electric fan doesnt work. it does but doesnt. my relay isnt gettin power and all my fuses are good. but instead of tracking down that. i was just goin to run the fan to a small switch panel im puttin in the car. and i plan on putting a sound system in the car too but im wondering where do i pull power from?? i know when i had my truck i had a small auxillary panel that i was able to tap into for power, but i dont know where in the car

I wouldn't recommend doing what you're doing... But you can get 12v constant and 12v switched from the BAT, and ACC spots on the fuse block. Just keep in mind they're not rated for much amperage. You'll still want to get your power from the battery and wire your circuit with a relay and a proper fuse.

Re: auxillary wiring?

I have an F'bird v6 and just did exactly that. The relay on the firewall was not the one shown in the manual. It's beside another one and they were swapped. Make sure you've got the right one! There should be a big red wire that's hot all the time, a smaller brown wire that's hot when the engine is running. There is another large wire brwn/blk(?) that goes to the fan and a small green/white wire that goes to the ecu and triggers the relay. I attached a wire to the green/wht wire and ran it to a switch with the other switch terminal grounded. Easy and works great. If you want it to work even with the engine off jump the red wire to the brown wire. All this assumes F'bird and Camaro have same set up. I think they do. Good Luck.
