Quick question on SES light and scanner
My light comes on until the car is warmed up and runs rough.
I did the paperclip trick and only got a code 24 (dont think this would have anything to do with my problem)
Went to the autozone to get a scan but by the time I get there car is warmed up and wont show code as it only is on while running and cold.
If I buy a cheap wal mart scanner do those work with the engine on to pull why the light is on?

Re: Quick question on SES light and scanner
the issue with most scanners available now is that they are for OBDII and newer (1996+), where as the third gens are OBDI. The cheap scan tools that are offered for OBDI really wont give you anything more than the paper clip would. It may be worthwhile to get the car checked out by a mechanic/friend who can actually scan the ecm data realtime (sensor output, etc).
