Just burned up my third flasher. Help.
First time was about this time last year. Turned on head lights, both turn signal indicators came on, solid. Tried turn signal, solid in both directions.
Solution: replaced flasher (under column), but left turn signal indicator came on with headlights.
Solution: Changed left turn signal bulb, problem solved. I believe the bulbs are 2057's.
Turn signal did flash at a weird rate but it still worked.
About 2 weeks ago, my turn signal stopped working. It would work every now and then but it would blink incredibly slow and then speed up.
Solution: Got a new flasher from NAPA, worked great. It did turn off once when I was waiting at a light for a couple minutes with my signal on.
Today, driving to work and the signal will not go on at all. I think it has completely burned out which leads me to believe the switch may be shorted, causing excessive current flow through the flasher.
I'm not sure where to start to fix this or confirm my theory though. Any ideas?
