Horn Question. (Grant Wheel)

Hey guys,

Horn has never worked. Took off the grant steering wheel that was on the car when I bought it to find no wire to the retainer. Where can I get this wire and where does it go from the retainer? Is it just a wire or does it have a plunger to insert?

If picture is available or could send the right kit number to fix this probably it'd be very much appreciated. Thx.

i'm not sure if you can get the wire all by itself, but it should be included with the wheel install kits. $20-30 might stink for just a single piece of wire, but I know we can't pass inspections here in mass without a working horn

Re: Horn Question. (Grant Wheel)

Yeah, I had to get a new install kit to get the missing parts for my grant horn button. I also had and issue with the horn contact ring in the steering column. It was broken so I had to find one of those, should be able to buy one new or find it in the junk yard. You have to take the lock plate off to replace that part though.

Re: Horn Question. (Grant Wheel)

Check the parts stores in the HELP section. I found the wire for my Camaro there at my local Autozone. It was a couple years ago though. You can also get the install kits on Ebay really cheap. The kit # for our cars is 3196 IIRC.
