Can a computer chip make a difference????

I've replaced my 305 with a 355 in my 91 RS Camaro, I'm having a hard time getting it to stay running. A suggestion was given that the computer chip in the computer might need an upgrade as well. On the other hand I've also have been told that the stock computer would adapt to the changes, just fine?? Does anybody actually know the truth of this???

TBI or TPI? a 91 305 I believe is MAP, generally when you mod, a MAF system adapts better to a modified engine than a MAP , however since you have a completely different setup, you will have to change some tables, which ones? don't know...

Not for a completely different size engine
For starters, the computer thinks the 305 injectors are still in the engine so fueling will be off
A chip from a stock 91 350 would get you ball park
