1 wire alt mod, how is it done.

I have heard you can buy or mod a stock alt to work like a 1 wire alt. I went from stock to 100% aftermarket motor/everything old school, now going back to stock-ish. I sold my powermaster 1 wire alt and have my stock one back. How do I make this alt work like the powermaster 1 wire? I am running a painless wiring harness. It as a white wire that is used for the voltage regulator, it says on the wire. But I never needed to use it with the 1 wire.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Please don't forget there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING stock on the car except the body. Thanks.

you'll have to get a new regulator for the part, but you can usually find retro kits on ebay for reasonable prices

Great. Thanks. The guy recomended that I buy a rebuilt kit too. The Alt has very little miles but it has been sitting for almost 8 years, so I guess I will rebuilt it too. Can't hurt to learn how.
