what are these 2 sensors?
i found these under the plenum i accidently tore the wire off of one but it hasnt thrown me any codes theres also a picture of where it was connected to, the wire looked dark green...will a dirty fuel pump relay prevent me from starting after initial start up? is it suppose to have brown sludge looking grease?...also this car is 89 tpi formula l98 i think 350

Good luck with that...

Later cars don't use one. If I were in that position I'd be looking to disable that function in the chip, or upgrade to a later engine management that will allow it to be disabled/deleted.
Or solder that lead back onto the sensor.

yeah i think ill just go ahead and resolder this PoS. thanks for the heads up.
and about my other question. will a dirty fuel pump relay cause engine to not start up every time? at first i thought it was just lube for eletrical stuff but it kind of looks brown and sludgy. i can hear the hum of the fuel pump every time i turn to on position. car hesitates to start after initial start up. i get some gas and find myself having to wait 5-10 minutes before cranking to actually get her up and running again. so i always carry some starter fluid and that usually does the trick. fuel pressure from the nozzle around rail is around 40psi.

The grease is probably just there to keep water out. If something burned up you'd know it.
The fuel pump relay only turns on when you first turn the key to the run position to prime the pump and aid starting. After the engine creates oil pressure, power is routed through a pressure switch to the fuel pump. When the fuel pump relay fails, the car just takes longer to start, and cranks for 30 seconds or so until the engine makes pressure. It's probably not the relay that's causing your symptoms.
