want to check codes as described in FAQ

Where is the OBDI - DLC type connector to jump the pins? I found one near the fuse panel with an empty connector but I'm not sure thats it, it does not look 'D' shaped. TIA - Jack

found it...

it was right next to the fuse panel, and was not 'D' shaped at all. I decided to try anyway. The worst thing that could happen is to blow a fuse (I hoped). On my car (91 RS L03), you had to jumper pins 5 & 6, not 6 & 12. But anyway I got a 42 code and im going to search for 'code 42' now to see what other members experiences may have been.
Thanks - Jack

problem solved

after spending 2 to 3 hours searching for 'code 42' and reading what the possibilities were for this code, I found the tan wire that completes the EST circuitry was broken (the one we disconnect to set base timing in the loom near A/C). A little solder and a quick reset of the codes and viola! It even runs better now it seems.

Thanks for being such a good resource for my new project car. This is the newest car I've ever taken on as a project, so I'll be back many times before I'm finished.

'91 RS L03, 5spd - future recipient of 420HP 383

Thanks - Jack, Nashville
