OK, what is this and why is it unplugged?
OK, what is this and why is it unplugged?
OK I have a 1988 Trans Am GTA and I was pulling the dash today to replace the heater core (what a job that turned into, but I digress)
Anywas I found this multiplug in the passenger side dash and it is unplugged.
I wondered if anyone knows what this is for and any suggestions why a previous owner has unplugged it?
FWIW most of the electrical "accessories" in my car don't work but I haven't chased them all down yet. I'm trying to get the mechanical stuff done first.

Its the kind of pale blue coloured plug.
Thanks in advance.

The one plugged in above it is for the power antenna. Without that one plugged in, the antenna will not go up or down because there won't be any power to the motor. Maybe it's the connector for when you turn the stereo on/off the antenna knows to go up and down?

Looks to me like maybe the antenna is shot and that connector is unplugged to keep the battery from dying overnight. Had the same problem with my Grand Prix until I fixed the antenna. I'd guess that the antenna mast needs to be replaced and the PO either didn't know how to do it or how to get at the antenna assembly to do it (early models are easy).
