Is It Safe To Run It This Way?
Ok, heres the situation. I have a Racetronix fuel pump in my car, Ive got it wired up and I am debating on how to run this last bit of wire. The wire in my hand in the photo is the wire going down to the fuel pump relay at the rear of the car. Obviously you see the fuse in the middle. Now the last wire with the ring terminal is supposed to be connected to the terminal at the back of the alternator. Now this is my dilemna, I am trying to clean up the wiring in the engine bay, this being one of them. If the terminal at the end of the alternator has constant power at all times, couldnt I safely run that wire directly to the battery without fear of the fuel pump running at all times? Any input would be appreciated, thanks..

Yes, can be run directly off the battery and it'll be all good since you have it fused. That's exactly how mine is set up.

Thats what I was thinking also but I was tired and my head was a lil fogged on the whole thing. Like I said, Im just trying to clean up the wiring a bit, make it all look a lil bit more appealing.

Racetronix site claims 1V+ difference between Alt and batt terminals when engine running
As pump performance is directly related to Voltage then this gives max pump output

If there's a 1V+ difference between the charge connection on the alternator and the battery connection, there are electrical system issues. That being corrosion or inadequate main charge lead between the alternator and battery.
