1992 Z28 with fogs
Does anyone have a picture on hooking up the headlight switch? I have mine apart, because I have no low beams, unfortunately due to a injury I was unable to work on it since summer, now I do not know which wires connect to the switch prongs. Any help will be greatly appreciated. BTW- The switch was not the problem with the low beams, so yes, I tore everything apart and there was no need for it. So I won the Dumb-A** of the year award for this one, LOL. Thanks

You mean you tore apart the connector for the headlight switch? Headlight switch has a connector that only goes on one way. If you tore it all apart, I'd recommend grabbing another connector from JY.

I took out the part the you pull to turn your lights on and off and turn to dim interior and just disconnect them. There are "5 or 6, i forget without looking" the just slide onto flat connectors. The switch is a replacement, I am not sure which colors slide onto the prongs? Sorry for the confusion.

See if any of this helps:
http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/54...ghtSwitch.html
3rd gen wiring diags: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19
Scroll down, alot of 1992 diags
http://www.americanstreetmasters.com/Wiring_101_19.jpg
http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/atta...chmentid=20086
Last couple are from earlier GM's, but not much has changed. Might be one wire different (not shown) that has to do with foglights.
I just Googled "GM Headlight Switch Wiring"

Thanks allot, the first link may be exactly what I needed. Now I just have to figure out why everything works but the darn low beams!
BTW- Is there a section on this forum where I might find someone with the same color Camaro who would like to swap my Daytona hood for a original 91-92 Z28 hood?

Try the classifieds.
Maybe the low beams are burnt out? There is a seperate element in a low bean light that lights when high beams are on - just because the low beam lights light iup when the high beams are on doesn't mean the low beam bulbs are good - have you tried new lights?
Is the hi/low switch working?

No I have not tried new lights, that is what I am planning on doing next though. Even on high beam, I do not have low beam they just don't work at all. The high/low switch works but it has play in it.

Maybe the hi/lo switch needs adjusted - it's on the steering column down just above brake pedal - two 7mm screws hold it in place, a rod runs from lever to the switch - you can see the rod moving up/down the column when you move the lever - loosen the screws slightly and slide it upwards towards the steering wheel - if you have tilt wheel do this when the tilt is set at normal driving position (down).
