just trying to figure out how to reconect the factory alarm system.
the guy i got it from said the alarm would go off on random, so this "smart guy" just cliped the wire to the horn relay, what i need to know is when i reconnect the wires what could make the alarm go off at random(short?)? and does it have a clicker to disarm or would i be better off just leaving it off? if i leave it off how cam i reconect the horn? maybe a horn and alarm system diagram would help. all post sum pic of the cut wires later today.

 

Well - your first problem is ... no 3rd gen came from the factory with an alarm system. Might be a dealer install, but it's still aftermarket, not factory.

So we can't help you really. You'll have to find the unit, and get the brand, and look for their website or call their tech support.

 

well im not really sure about it being factory, just the fact that it has a light in the dash cluster next to the service engine soon light. it an orange light just like the others that reads "ALARM"?

yeah thats aftermarket, ALOT of dealers add alarms when they get cars or at the customers request and call it factory, but its not....the factory anti-theft is VATS
