86 IROC Rear Hatch Wont Open
Even with car in neutral (running or not) it won't open.(using switch in center console between window switches) is there a way to hotwire a bypass for that switch or a reason it will not open? After doing some reading tonight I am going to try pulling the ebrake and using the switch after work tonight. Also, the part u put the key in to open it, behind the licence plate, is rusted or frozen or something. It won't turn. I had it hot wired once and got it open that way but cannot remember how. Also right now the fuse for the rear hatch (labeled "lid") is out. When I put it in, the motor or whatever opens the hatch in back makes a buzzing sound almost like its trying to open, but it still doesn't. Any explanation for any of these would be great. Thanks!

Sounds like a stripped gear in the hatch motor maybe.
You might get lucky with some help. If the gear is stripped in just one spot, you maybe have one shot at getting it open so that you can work on it.
Have a friend insert the LID fuse while you gently pull up on the hatch lid - if the gear gets to a spot where it catches, you might get lucky and get it to pop.
If you get lucky, and it opens, then remove the rear plastic panel covering it immediately, and leave it out until you are 100% confident that you've got it repaired. Remove that bad key cylinder and get it fixed/replaced FIRST - that way you can get back in the rear until you get the hatch motor and release switch fixed.

Pulled the ebrake, and she popped right open. Not a clue as to the buzzing of that fuse but I don't need t in to work.
