No Fog Lights No Instrument Panel Lights - Related?

My fog lights dont work. The button doesent even light up. Also my instrument panel lights dont work. The dimmer switch works because i can turn on the interior lights with it. Are those 2 problems related anyway?

fuses are good, switch for fog lights never lights up. looks like there is a relation, im just not the best with electrical diagrams. could it be a bad fog light switch? and how would that effect the cluster lights?

The bulb for lighting the button and the instrument lamps not lighting might be an illumination dimmer problem.

You said “
The dimmer switch works because i can turn on the interior lights with it.”, however the interior lights and dash illumination are controlled by different parts of the “dimmer switch”.

To find out, make sure the dash dimmer control is set at the bright position, then using a voltmeter or test light
(the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe both sides of the INST LPS fuse.

If there is no power there check for power on the
orange wire at the headlight switch.

Then check for power on the
dark green wire at the headlight switch.

Make sure there’s power on both wires.

Fog Lights:

Probe both sides of the
FOG LPS fuse.

Is there power on both sides?

If there is, make sure the headlight switch is in the Lo-Beam position, then probe the
yellow wire at the fog light switch.

Make sure there’s power there.

Happy Racing!
