fuel pump problems
fuel pump problems
I am working on an 89 camaro rs with a custom 350 swap. It is pretty much all set up ready to run. The fuel pump used to prime up when the key is turned to the on position. I got a clear fuel filter right before the carb. Now it does not.
I put a fuel filter in it and noticed when the old filter was off that the tank was emptying itself. The fuel just kept pouring out.
This started happening before the ecm was unplugged. Now the ecm is unplugged and the vats is disabled. I got a pre-78 log cylinder in the steering column and then bypassed the fuel pump enable relay in the kick panel.
The reason why I changed the fuel filter is because the owner ran the tank really low and sucked up all the rust on the bottom of the tank. This clogged up the carburetor to the point where it wouldn't run. Now the carb is fixed. My opinion is that the fuel pump is f'd. Any other opinions are appreciated.
